1982 – 1986 Studium der Musikwissenschaft am Staatskonservatorium für Türkische Musik an der Technischen Universität Istanbul; Promotion dort zum Thema “Die Tradition des Bağlama-Spiels mit den Fingern (ohne Plektrum) und ihre Spieltechniken in der Türkei”; 1988 – 1998 Bağlama-Künstler in der staatlichen Rundfunk- und Fernsehanstalt (TRT) bei Radio Istanbul; parallel dazu Feldforschungen in verschiedenen Regionen der Türkei zu unterschiedlichen Spieltechniken der Bağlama; hierbei Dokumentation von nahezu 1000 Volksliedern; seit 1995 Konzerte in unterschiedlichen Formationen und als Solist auf vielen renommierten Bühnen u. a. der Berliner und Straßburger Philharmonie; vielfältige Lehrtätigkeit und Workshops an Privatschulen, Universitäten und Konservatorien in Europa und weltweit; derzeit Associate Professor am Staatskonservatorium für Türkische Musik der Technischen Universität Istanbul sowie Leiter der Abteilung des Studiengangs Gesang; Veröffentlichung von vier CDs als Solist und im Ensemble;

1982 – 1986 arası Đstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Türk Müzikisi Devlet Konservatuarı'nda

öĝrenim gördü ve ''Türkiye' de El Đle (tezenesiz) Saz Çalma Geleneği ve Çalıs Teknikleri"

hakkındaki tezi ile doktor ünvanını elde etti.

1988 – 1998 arası TRT Đstanbul Radyosu'nda baĝlama sanatçısı olarak görev yaptı ve bu

sürede ayrıca Türkiye’nin değisik bölgelerinde özellikle bağlama çalıs teknikleri konusunda

arastırmalar gerçeklestirdi. Bu vesileyle, 1000'e yakın halk ezgisi derledi.

1995 yılından beri çesitli topluluklar ile ve solist olarak birçok tanınmıs sahnelerde, örn.

Berlin ve Strazburg Filarmonilerinde, konserler verdi.

Avrupa ve dünya çapında özel okullarda, üniversitelerde ve konservatuarlarda çesitli dersler

ve kurslar gerçeklestirdi.

Halen Đstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Türk Müzikisi Devlet Konservatuarı'nda associate

Profesör ve Ses Eĝitimi Bölümü Baskanı olarak görev yapmakta.

Solist ve topluluk olarak 4 CD yayımlamıstır.

1982 – 1986 studies of musical science at State Conservatory of Turkish Music (TMDK) at the Technical University Istanbul (ITÜ); doctor’s degree there for the work “Tradition of Bağlama-playing with fingers (without plectrum) and the related playing-techniques in Turkey”; 1988 – 1998 Bağlama-artist in the State Broadcast at Radio Istanbul; additional field studies in different regions of Turkey concerning different playing-techniques of the Bağlama; documentation of nearly 1.000 folksongs; since 1995 concert activities with various ensembles and as soloist on many well known stages such as Berlin Philharmonic or Strassbourg Philharmonic; manifold teaching activities and workshops at private schools, universities and conservatories in Europe and worldwide; now associate Professor at State Conservatory of Turkish Music (TMDK) at the Technical University Istanbul (ITÜ) as well as head of the department of studies in singing; published 4 CDs as soloist and with ensembles;
